Cortland Antique Tractor Society (CATS)

Cortland, NE 68331

The CATS began with a bunch of Cortland guys getting together and driving their tractors from Cortland to Daykin and back one fine Sunday afternoon in 2004. In following years, a few of the guys decided to take trips from Yankton, SD to the Kansas line; from the Wyoming line across Nebraska to Iowa; a trip across Iowa and back to Cortland; and a trip from Cortland to Dupo, IL. A larger group of antique tractor enthusiasts also made drives to antique tractor shows and surrounding towns such as Hallam, Sprague, Wilber, Sterling, Daykin, and Lincoln, NE.

Every year the CATS sponsor the tractor show during the annual Cortland Fest event that takes place on the last Saturday of June. It has grown from a few tractors to the 100 tractor display on the street during the 125th celebration in 2008. Each year the show includes some kind of competition. In 2010, the teeter-totter was challenging but loads of fun! A trophy is given to the winner of the competition, and trophies are also given for categories judged by peers and attendees for "Most Unique," "Best of Show," and "Most Original."
